Easter photo session
Go to http://www.ebsphotography.com/slideshows/Jones843/ to see a slideshow of images from our session on Saturday. I’ve had some trouble with the link, so if it doesn’t work, just try again. If any of you would like to order prints, you can do it directly from the site– the password to order is “tutugirl.”
Once again, Elizabeth has worked her magic. Thank you Elizabeth!
Big weekend fun, under the big top
Carson enjoyed a trip to the circus this weekend. She loved the elephants holding tails with trunks. She also loved the horses and the zebras. Unfortunately all three species made their appearance in the first 8 minutes, and then she was done paying attention. I think she really missed out– I mean, I am sure that opening and closing the door to the bathroom in the suite and flushing the toilet over and over again was a lot of fun, but she should have seen those poodles doing backflips. Not something you see every day.
We also had an Easter photo session Saturday morning. I know Elizabeth earned her money with Carson. We tried not only during her appointed time, but also during some other people’s, to try to get some smiles out of her. Happily, most of the other sessions we interrupted were those of our friends. I think we got some smiley shots of C wearing a blue tutu and rainboots (my idea, don’t ask me why), especially since Shane was jumping up and down and disco dancing, but when it came to the Easter dress there was just no cooperation. Of course once we’d all given up and it was way past our time to go home, she ran into the room where Elizabeth was set up with her camera for another family (this time not one we knew), plopped down right in front of the camera, and smiled. I’ll post a link to the images when I have one.
Finally, we took a little trip to Houston’s where Carson enjoyed eating a chicken leg whole (actually, just the skin, but we can’t figure out where she learned that) and almost all of her daddy’s baked beans. We laughed all the way home as we sang “Frosty the Snowman” (which everyone knows is truly seasonless) and C filled in the last word of each line…
Me: Frosty the Snowman was a jolly, happy
Carson: Sooouuuulll!!!
Me: With a corn cob pipe and a button nose, and two eyes made out of
Carson: Cooooooooooaaaaalllllll!!!
Hope you all had a fun-filled, adventurous weekend too.
C’s Valentine Pigtails
C led the Valentine’s Day parade at school with a flourish of the tambourine. And, as promised… check out those pigtails! Click on the link above to see…
Happy Valentine’s Day
I have to admit I struggled over where to put the apostrophe. But I think there was one St. Valentine, and this is his day. Assuming these statements are true, I’ve got it in the right place.
I love it when little kids refer to it as “Valentime’s Day.” Carson keeps saying “Happy Birthday.” Give someone you love a big kiss and a hug today! And a little chocolate never hurts.
Delinquent
We’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t taken the time to write! No excuse, I know, as I’m sure you are all impatiently awaiting updates.
I had a great birthday celebration on Saturday. CJ spent the night with Nana and Pop-Pop and had a great time. Shane and I went to dinner and to see the ASO. We enjoyed a phenomenal performance, including John Adams’ September 11 rememberance, “On the Transmigration of Souls.” It was emotionally exhausting but incredibly moving. Also on the program were Barber’s Adagio for Strings, an old fave from my WHS days, and Beethoven’s 3rd, which many mark as the piece denoting the end of the Classical and the start of the Romantic Period. The horn part makes me want to be a horn player.
Carson continues to grow and change every day, of course. She really likes to play with her doggies. This morning she even stopped to kiss Munson goodbye through his crate. She especially likes it when Munson yawns. She always points it out, then says, “more yawn!” as if we can get Munson to yawn on cue. I think she will soon be able to jump– right now she tries so hard, but ends up stomping her feet and lowering her bottom to the ground instead. She likes to watch us jump, though, and it ain’t as easy to jump as it used to be.
Thanks to my mom I’m putting up some pictures. Thankfully we have a short session with Elizabeth on the 23rd (check the blogroll for a link to her blog), so I can make sure at least part of CJ’s 23rd month gets properly documented.
I’m off to Houston tomorrow so I’ll talk to all of you later in the week.
Slam dunk! (Watch out, Carter and Davis W.! She’s practicing!)
