Photo stealing
I just stole this photo from Amelia’s blog (link to the right)– from C’s play date with Amelia, Carter, and Davis weekend before last. Don’t you love it? (And I think Fisher Price ought to be paying us for this kind of booster seat publicity!) C has more than a year on these little guys and gal but loves hanging out with them. Thanks to Delta for allowing the paths of their moms and dads to cross and, through the years, become entertwined through good friendship.
We have plaster!
Ladies and gentlemen, we have plaster in the front room at Adams. I will try to get some pictures this weekend. You never know what you’ll find when working on an old house, I suppose; Shane and the contractor now surmise that there used to be a door to the left of the fireplace that led under the stairs and into the basement, contrary to what we’d thought from the “original” house plan we saw.
What else is new? Carson is talking and talking and talking, but most importantly wanting to do everything, and I mean everything, herself. If I do it for her, she undoes it and does it again, even if it takes 30 minutes. And she gets very, very opinionated about it, too. She has loved learning about community helpers at school, including firefighters and doctors. On Sunday I found her in the kitchen taking Munson’s temperature with my car key. Happily, she was just pressing it gently to his back. She also listened to his heart with her stethoscope. She has told us that when you see a fire you shout “Help! Fire truck!!” and that fire trucks are “beautiful.” This week the class is building a log cabin from popsicle sticks and last night she told me she made windows and doors so the people could come out. Every house should have windows and doors. C is also reading letters off of everything from trucks to train cars to billboards and repeating words that she hears on the radio, especially community helper related words like “hospital” and “accident.” She also likes to watch golf and tennis on TV. Finally, she has mentioned several times that she wants to go on an airplane to see Mama Claire (and grandaddy, but she always says Mama Claire first) at the beach and play in the water. So do I, so we’re working on that plan!
