Checking in
Haven’t updated you in a while, have I? Well, I will try to fill you in on the highlights. First, as most of you probably know, we are expecting Jones No. 2 in December. Not to use pregnancy as an excuse, but… well, okay, I’m going to use pregnancy as an excuse. I’ve just been so tired it’s been hard to muster the energy to write! In any event, C will be a big sister, although we don’t think she really gets it yet.
We still have not sold our house, but we are planning to move in at Adams over Labor Day weekend regardless. We feel it’s time to move on and get settled over there, small kitchen and all. At this point we may not be able to start our addition until well after Baby J 2, but that’s okay. I’m confident that my Crock Pot will work in the new kitchen regardless of how small it is. As long as the dishwasher functions, we should be okay. So, we (mostly Shane) have been busy over there picking out paint colors, doing yard work, pulling up the old fence, and trying to get ready, as well as at home (mostly me) cleaning out drawers, closets, and cabinets. We are making progress for sure. I will try to get some pictures up soon (of the new house, not the boxes).
Carson is a blast these days. She recognizes almost all of the alphabet and can spell her name when she sees it. This morning in the car she started shouting “N! N!” I could not figure out where she saw an N, so I asked her and she said, “There’s an N on mama’s car!” Sure enough she was reading the N from the compass that’s on my rear view mirror (good eyes!!). She also loves to sing, and turn everything into a song. Yesterday she practiced “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” using Munson and Georgia as the subjects, which is especially hard because they don’t just sit there. (And can you find a bulldog’s knees?) She loves to pretend– cooking, playing doctor/veterinarian, you name it. She also must do everything herself, and so if she drops something you’d better not try to get it for her because she will throw it back down just so she can pick it up for herself. She finally mastered jumping a few months back, and she does a lot of jumping. Finally, we went to Taco Mac over the weekend where she ate a hard taco all by herself without spilling any or having it crumble in her hands. Quite impressive!! I wish I could accomplish that.
Let me know what all of you are up to.
